60/22 – TO RECEIVE CORRESPONDENCE - Clerk had received notification from a disgruntled relative of a burial in the cemetery that the memorial had been chipped by the council’s contractor.  A small corner of memorial but the cost to uplift, make good and replace would be £356.  Council felt this a significant amount in view of the family now wanting an additional inscription on the memorial, which would be taken off site and replaced.  Following discussions, it was agreed not to get involved directly with the stonemason, in case of any further issues, and to agree to pay the amount in full direct to the complainant as a full and final settlement.  Clerk to approach contractors with regard to reimbursing this sum.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING – Thursday 8th September with walk around village on 11th August at 7 p.m.
